Round 2.5 with Chris Pappas of Elle Belle! This might be the longest episode so far, clocked in at around 4hrs, so I cut it in half for everyone's sanity. We get deep into the state of the world, civilization in general, and of course the new record. The forthcoming album, How Do I Feel?, is out 9/1 via Little Record Company.

The Hazards are a four-piece rock outfit from Los Angeles, working in punk roots and a DIY drive. We met up at the great dba256, bathed in the ruckus of a quickly filling bar before a show. Mind the volume. Their latest album, Modern Medication, is out now on all platforms

Today’s episode is with Cassie and Nick Gaffaney of Young Winona, whose latest single ‘LA Waste’ has been a hit on their recent livestreams. This single also commemorates their inclusion onto the Poor Man Records roster, so congrats to them on that!

I interviewed Cassie a few years ago after catching a show at Harvard & Stone, one of those solid small cap venues we all hope to see at the end of this yearlong tunnel. We talked New Zealand and dystopic visions as they teased another livestream and single in the coming weeks.

23 – Jen and Henry are Aloud

Aloud 8.jpg

This episode is with Jen and Henry of Aloud – Miami-born, LA by way of Boston quartet whose mutual love of the classics in British Invasion bears overwhelming fruit. I was introduced to Henry at I believe the Polartropica residency at Bootleg, though we didn’t speak until much later. It was a loud one. A loud. Aloud. Well I reached out for an interview and met Jen who was happy to set it up. We all got together at their place in Hollywood. I couldn’t believe I found parking.

It’s a wall of sound with the band, as I say in the interview, in the best way possible. Their show at Bootleg last month reminded me to wear earplugs because, you guessed it, I’m stubborn and have never bothered to. The last time I tried was for a shoegaze lineup at DC9 a few years ago. Say what you will about preserving one’s hearing, but that fuzz needs all canals clear. Same with Aloud. But what do I know about sound and ear health? 31 year old eardrums will attest to nothing.
